   Marisa's parents will be celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary this year. They still live in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio and enjoy their trips to California several times a year. Her brother and his wife now live in Arizona, and love being "Uncle Mike and Aunt Izabella". Dan's mother and step dad live about 40 minutes away in Sonoma, CA and his dad lives in Anchorage, Alaska. His sister and brother-in-law live about an hour away in Tracy, CA. We have two wonderful nieces, Jessica and Ashley, as well as a nephew, Scotty.All of our family members absolutely spending time with our family! Maris's parents can't wait to get here and are always sad to leave. Dan‚s parents (Nana and Papa) are over at the house often for an afternoon barbecue or to baby-sit when Mom and Dad go out on a date! Our nieces, Jessica, Ashley and Scotty, love to run around and teach Grace new and exciting adventures! Everyone has been supportive of our adoption of Grace, and they are equally supportive of our open adoption and relationship with Grace's birth family. Our extended family have all have met Grace's birth mother, Laura, and are so thankful for the wonderful gift she has brought to all of our lives. In addition, we are very fortunate to have lots of wonderful and supportive friends. Most of our close friends have met Laura, and in fact many of our friends have also formed their families through open adoption. We frequently spend time with our community of friends who have their own adoption story, and we feel there is a special bond between us and these friends, as well as Grace and their children.   |
